Music captures the entirety of a moment, presented in the grace of melody and prose. My earliest memories of my earliest songs go back to the private moments of my childhood. Away from any judging ears, I wrote my feelings with my voice as the paper and lyrics as the pen.
My heart hides so many precious secrets that safely cocoon themselves in songs. When they emerge, I hold space for all of us to react and emote.

In October 11, 2016, Shaheen founded Amala Collectiv, a Bharatanatyam dance school and performing arts collective committed to the South Asian Arts diaspora. The school is based in Laguna Beach and Irvine, California and is in partnership with OC Music and Dance, Orange County's only nonprofit dance and music school committed to Nurture, Inspire and Empower youth to find and follow their passion.
